In 2019, we were awarded the tender project by Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) to conduct training as well as consultancy to achieve ISO 55001: 2014 in Asset Management. This was for SEB’s two power generation plant (hydro & coal) namely Sejingkat Power Corporation (SPC) & Batang Ai Power Generation (BAPG).
The Project Scope includes:
1. Statement of Scope of Certification for SPC and BAPG
2. Gap Analysis and Recommendations to Close the Gaps
3. Asset Management Policy
4. Strategic Asset Management Plan
5. First Management Review Meeting
6. Findings from Pre-Certification Audit
An Asset Management Training overview was conducted for upper management by Peter Kohler, an asset management thought leader from Australia.
Frequent site visits to both power plants were conducted to ensure that ISO preparation was streamlined across the power plants.
In addition, an internal audit training was organised to equip SEB staff with the proper technique to conduct future audits. The goal was to encourage employees to take ownership of the asset management system to achieve balance in cost, performance, risk & opportunity.
Frequent meetings & consultancy sessions were conducted to ensure that SEB has all the necessary documentation in place to be ISO-certified. Overall, it was a successful project.
